Flutter by, butterfly,
Wings of blue
Shimmering rainbows
Ev’ry hue.
Flutter by, butterfly,
Wings of green
Shimmering rainbows
Magic seen.
Flutter by, butterfly,
Wings of gold
Shimmering rainbows
Not to hold.
Flutter by, butterfly,
Wings of me
Shimmering rainbows
Flying free.
Ev’ry hue.
Magic seen.
Not to hold.
Flying free.
Wings of blue
Wings of green
Wings of gold
Wings of me
Wings of me
Wings of me
Wings of me
Butterfly.
Butterfly.
Butterfly.
Butterfly.

Do you ever dream of flying through the air,
And watching the world so far away,
Away down there?
Do you ever dream that you could
Fly away wherever you wanted to?
’Cross hills and trees to where you’ve always longed to be.
Higher, further, stronger – go!
Lift yourself there, oh, dare!
Fly high, through the sky.
Dream your dream.
So, if you have a dream, a dream you should share -
Then there’d be dreamers everywhere!
Dream on, dreamer, you’ve nothing to lose!
Dream on, my friend, there’s everything to gain!
Dream on, dream on, paint those rainbow hues and
Dream away the rain!
Do you ever dream of floating out in space
And watching the stars so far away,
Away out there?
Do you ever dream that you could
Float wherever you wanted to?
Past Earth and Mars to where you’ve always longed to be.
Do you ever dream of diving ’neath the sea
And watching the fish so deep away,
Away down there?
Do you ever dream that you could swim wherever you wanted to?
Below the waves to where you’ve always longed to be.

They’re thrown at us, year after year,
Famines and droughts and crippling fear;
Heartbreaks, illness, the passing of Jo;
All these are there to lay us low. (And)
Down through the ages, near and afar,
It’s never quite clear how fragile we are.
How fragile we are. (But the)
Rains tumble down, the
Rivers still flow;
No matter what’s thrown, we
Bounce back and grow.
How fragile we are, and often alone.
How fragile we are, and nothing to own.
How fragile we are, and trapped in a cage.
How fragile we are, when wrapped in a rage. (But)
The rains tumble down,
The rivers still flow;
No matter what’s thrown
We bounce back and grow.
How fragile we are, though born from the stars.
How fragile we are, while aiming for Mars.
How fragile we are, just dark specks in the night,
How fragile we are, who one day took flight. (And)
The rains tumble down,
The rivers still flow;
No matter what’s thrown
We bounce back and grow.
ylyaB neK yb cisuMSay hello to yourself, ’cause you’re okay,
It’s not so hard to do.
Take the world as it comes
Day by day,
It’s really up to you.
Say hello to yourself, come what may.
Take the world as it comes
Day by day.
(It’s really up to you, so)
Let us run as well as walk,
And let us shout as well as talk,
Fill the sky, fill the air, fill hearts everywhere,
It’s really up to you, so
Let us laugh as well as cry
And let us love until we die,
Fill the sky, fill the air, fill hearts everywhere
With life’s lovely song.
Say hello to yourself, ’cause you’re a friend,
It’s not so hard to do.
Treat the world to your smile,
Don’t pretend
It’s really up to you.
Say hello to yourself, come what may.
Treat the world to your smile,
Day by day.
(It’s really up to you, so)
Say hello to yourself, ’cause that’s the way
It’s not so hard to do.
Light the world with your laugh,
Ev’ry day
It’s really up to you.
Say hello to yourself, come what may.
Light the world with your laugh,
Day by day.
(It’s really up to you, so)
Say hello to yourself, ’cause you’re okay,
It’s not so hard to do.
Take the world as it comes
Day by day,
It’s really up to you.
Say hello to yourself, come what may.
Take the world as it comes
Day by day.
It’s really up to you.
Yes, it is really up to you.

Don’t be afraid just to go with your dreams,
Don’t be afraid of tomorrow.
Life isn’t always the way that it seems,
Go, give the dice another throw my friend.
Though other people can’t understand,
Hope is a star shining there for you.
Go on and live ev’ry day of your life
And you’ll have set yourself free.
Sometimes dark things abound
Light fades away
Closing around
But there’s always a way...
Sometimes joy disappears
Ending the day
Leaving just fears
But there’s always a way...
Sometimes there’s only pain
Where’s life’s bouquet?
What’s there to gain?
But there’s always a way...
There’s always a way.
Always a way.
Always a way.
There’s always a way.
Always a way.

One road leads off to the left, along the ridge.
It climbs slowly, the path lit by the pale moon,
Strewn with stones and an occasional bridge,
Where the palest light is a miracle boon.
Trees along the way become stunted and small,
The path petering out roughly here and there,
But as the way fades the sky grows tall,
And the mountain air grows fair.
You may be on one road, my friend,
And I on the other,
But there’s no doubt that, in the end,
One road’s as good, or bad, as another.
The other, broader, road curves gently down hill,
Descending slowly, moonlight useless in trees,
Easy walking, where light and sound stand still:
It all – life, light, sound, shade – seems designed to please.
Descending further, the valley opens wide
With fields and farms, orchards, and life-sending streams,
And houses, with warming fires inside,
Where people begin their dreams.
You may be on one road, my friend,
And I on the other,
But there’s no doubt that, in the end,
One road’s as good, or bad, as another.
The first road climbs upward to the highest high,
Reaching past moonwards to Jupiter and Mars.
And as it winds up to beneath the sky
We see stars beyond stars beyond stars.
And there we stand, mind gazing far beyond eyes,
Questing. What is there, past time and past vast space?
What is there causing life to arise?
Are we alone in this place?
You may be on one road, my friend,
And I on the other,
But there’s no doubt that, in the end,
One road’s as good, or bad, as another.
In houses and places where those people live,
They and their children, too, do quest and explore.
Is life a thing for us to take or give?
Is this all there is, or just could there be more?
What’s out there beyond our stars, what’s within our minds?
What happens as a wonderful thought explodes
As all mankind finally finds
Truth in the song of the roads:
You may be on one road, my friend,
And I on the other,
But there’s no doubt that, in the end,
One road inevitably leads to another.
In the end,
One road inevitably leads
To another.
I’ve been walking in the shadow’d valleys,
Not sure where to go or what to do;
Found myself alone in darken’d alleys,
All alone, a rendezvous in blue, (but)...
Climbing up towards the top of the world now,
Up to the sky, where I can fly!
Come climbing with me far above all your cares now,
Come on, get out, get rid of your doubts.
There’s a new world for you,
Where we can share the joys of friendship with each other.
At the top of the world there’s sunshine and laughter
Ev’rywhere there’s joy and song in the air.
What’s the point of always feeling sadly?
Why should I let the world get me down?
No matter that things seem to go so badly -
Must dress myself in a diff’rent gown!
If you make up your mind to take it on,
Doesn’t matter, really, what you choose,
You’ll find those old worries of yours all gone,
And then you’ll find that you cannot lose, (’cos)...
Doesn’t matter, really, what you choose,
You’ll find those old worries of yours all gone,
And you’ll find that you cannot lose,
It doesn’t really matter, what you choose.

What does it take, my friend,
To begin a dream?
A thought, a whim,
A hazy scheme
Is all that it takes to
Begin a dream.
What does it take, my friend,
To grow a dream?
Commitment and
A pleasant theme
Is all that it takes to
Grow a dream.
What does it take, my friend,
To spread a dream?
The right time and
A proper team
Is all that it takes to
Spread a dream.
Well, that’s all very fine and true,
And if that was all we had to do -
The world would be drowning in
Streams of dreams!
So, what else is there,
Oh, would-be entrepreneur?
Character and courage,
Seeing good in roughage!
Knowing that gain may be
Disguised as pain;
Walking, crawling each extra mile,
All the time with style;
And finally, my friend who dares
To sip this cup,
Give love, and laughter,
And never give up.
That’s what it takes.
