Don't Be Afraid

Don’t be afraid just to go with your dreams,

Don’t be afraid of tomorrow.

Life isn’t always the way that it seems,

Go, give the dice another throw my friend.

Though other people can’t understand,

Hope is a star shining there for you.

Go on and live ev’ry day of your life

And you’ll have set yourself free.

Sometimes dark things abound

Light fades away

Closing around

But there’s always a way...

Sometimes joy disappears

Ending the day

Leaving just fears

But there’s always a way...

Sometimes there’s only pain

Where’s life’s bouquet?

What’s there to gain?

But there’s always a way...

At the Wandiligong Billabong

Out out back, beyond that Stump,

'Way past legend, 'way past song

We're all together, bumpity bump,

At the Wandiligong billabong.

We're Aussie ghosts, but not true blue -

In fact we're kinda white!

And we never ever know what to do

So we use the night to fright!

Out out back, beyond that Stump,

'Way past legend, 'way past song

We're all together, bumpity bump,

At the Wandiligong billabong

We're Aussie ghosts who love to say

All kinds of funny things.

And we're never ever seen in the day -

In the dark we're ding-a-lings!

Out out back, beyond that Stump,

'Way past legend, 'way past song

We're all together, bumpity bump,

At the Wandiligong billabong

We're Aussie ghosts, you've heard our names -

We come from all your past,

And we're always always playing dumb games

Which'd make for fast aghast!

Out out back, beyond that Stump,

'Way past legend, 'way past song

We're all together, bumpity bump,

At the Wandiligong billabong

Do You Ever Dream?

Do you ever dream of flying through the air

And watching the world so far away away down there?

Do you ever dream that you could fly away wherever you wanted to?

’Cross hills and trees to where you’ve always longed to be.

Higher, further, stronger – go!

Lift yourself there, oh, dare!

Fly so high, fly through the sky

Dream your dream.

So, if you have a dream, a real dreamer’s dream,

Then you know that you’ll become life’s millionaire!

Dream on, dreamer, you’ve nothing to lose!

Dream on, my friend, there’s everything to gain!

Dream on, dream on, paint those rainbow hues and

Dream away the rain!

Do you ever dream of floating out in space

And watching the stars so far away away out there?

Do you ever dream that you could float wherever you wanted to?

Past Earth and Mars to where you’ve always longed to be.

Higher, further, stronger – go!

Lift yourself there, oh, dare!

Fly so high, fly through the sky

Dream your dream.

Dream on, dreamer, you’ve nothing to lose!

Dream on, my friend, there’s everything to gain!

Dream on, dream on, paint those rainbow hues and

Dream away the rain!

Do you ever dream of diving ’neath the sea

And watching the fish so deep away away down there?

Do you ever dream that you could swim wherever you wanted to?

Below the waves to where you’ve always longed to be.

Well, if you have a dream, a real dreamer’s dream,

Then you know that you’ll become life’s millionaire!

Down Under Land

 Australia! riding the rail across

Flat red plains.

Australia! soaring a sail across

Golden grains.

Ancient artists from dream time days

Entrancing wild things – a rainbow show

Forests of flowers, a dream time blaze
Elegant buildings from long ago.

Australia, Australia, Australia!

C’mon, take our hand!

Get up, get up, and get over to

Down Under Land!

Grab your coat, row a boat,

Fly a plane, steam a train,

Teleport, come on sport! to

Down Under Land!

Australia! trekking the trails across

Low high hills.

Australia! swimming with whales across

Blue green thrills.

Ancient rocks from dream time days

Delightful theatre – the world’s our stage

Infinite beaches to dream time laze
Nightloads of parties – they’re all a-rage.

Australia, Australia, Australia!

C’mon, take our hand!

Get up, get up, and get over to

Down Under Land!

Grab your coat, row a boat,

Fly a plane, steam a train,

Teleport, come on sport! to

Down Under Land!

The Happiness Tree

Somewhere I am sure that there’s a happiness tree,

Waiting somewhere to be found – like a lovely melody.

How far will I have to go, my happiness tree?

Are you very far away?  Can I find you easily?

Do you think there could be such a tree?  Or maybe it’s just a fantasy?

So where shall I look to find a happiness tree,

So that we can enjoy

All the fruits that grow on that tree?

Sometimes when lying in my bed at night

Such incredible dreams

Flash through my mind but seem so real,

Here is my craziest dream…

Somewhere I am sure that there’s a happiness tree,

Waiting somewhere to be found – like a lovely melody.

How far will I have to go, my happiness tree?

Are you very far away?  Can I find you easily?

Do you think there could be such a tree?  Or maybe it’s just a fantasy?

So where shall I look to find a happiness tree,

So that we can enjoy

All the fruits that grow on that tree?

Sometimes my world seems to be falling down –

I don’t know what to do.

Life isn’t good and all is dark,

But I know that somewhere...

Anytime that I feel down and out –

Don’t know what I can do.

Pick myself up and look ahead

As I know that somewhere...

I Love the Night

I love the night, the quiet evening.

I love the cooling of the air,

When birds fly home, and all is slowing,

It’s then for me the time most fair.

I love the night, when stars are shining,

I love the ending of the day

When all is peace, the world is resting

Before the day has passed away.

Hurry through the day, watch the clock, watch the clock,

Nary time to play, watch the clock, watch the clock

Get ahead or bust, watch the clock...

Fight the noise and dust....’til night falls.

Hurry through the day, hard to stop, watch the clock,

Nary time to play, hard to stop, cannot stop

All is lost or won, watch the clock...

Never see the sun....’til night falls.

Lady of My Land

You were the lady of my land

When we met.

Reflections in the window, music from the band,

A swirling dancing set.

You were the lady of my land

As we walked along those roads,

Sharing life’s little loads,

You were the lady of my land.

And I love loving you,

I love loving you.

There’s a million things that I can do

But the best is loving you.

You were the lady of my land

When we wed.

Rainbowed glass in the window, as you took my hand,

Then timeless vows were said.

You were the lady of my land,

So we walked back up the aisle –

And I still wear that smile

For you, the lady of my land.

And I love loving you,

I love loving you.

There’s a million things that I can do

But the best is loving you.

You are the lady of my land

Still today.

I am framed in your window, and the picture’s grand:

Will never go away.

You are the lady of my land,

And when all is said and done,

After the setting sun,

You’ll stay the lady of my land.

And I love loving you,

I love loving you.

There’s a million things that I can do

But the best is loving you.

My Town

My town is far from the city’s noise

With red gums shading the stream,

Where swallows soar and flash their wings, and

Small boys start to dream.

My town is down by a river bend,

Where summer lasts all year,

Where children dive and swim like kings, and

Ev’ry thing is clear.

Come on down to my town, my town home -

Come, come with me,

Come with me, come and see my home town,

My Australian home.

My town is high on a mountain side

With blue gums touching the sky,

Where wild birds laugh and call strange songs, and

Dreamers start to fly.

My town is up among the hills and trails

Where winter rims the air,

Where children sing of billabongs, and

Hope is ev’rywhere.

Come on down to my town, my town home -

Come, come with me,

Come with me, come and see my home town,

My Australian home.

My town is down by the rolling sea,

With white waves washing the sand,

Where seagulls wheel across the bay, and

Dreaming fills the land.

My town is down by the ocean waves

Where salt air fills our lungs,

Where children play life’s holiday, and

All the world is young.

Come on down to my town, my town home -

Come, come with me,

Come with me, come and see my home town,

My Australian home.

Our Last Hello

Many are the times that we have to say goodbye,

Sometimes with tears in our eye.

But we cannot be sad for very long

If we can sing one more song.

Happiness comes with a joy-bringing glow,

Singing as it comes our last hello.

Our show is over,

My friends good cheer.

We say goodnight now,

Until next year.

Our hearts are singing

With the friends we’ve one.

The air is ringing –

All the world is young.

Our songs are ending –

Too soon we go.

To you we’re sending

Our last hello.

And so we say

This is the end of our show:

Goodnight to each one here.

Phillipsland

 Phillipsland, oh Phillipsland!

That’s where I wanna go.

’Way down south from the gaols of England,

To Phillipsland I’ll go.

For years and years we’ve rotted here

With rats and cats and mice;

No food worth eating,

No central heating,

And draughts and damp and lice.

Phillipsland, oh Phillipsland!

That’s where I wanta go.

Far from the gaols of England

That’s where I’ve gotta go.

The King of England sat upon the throne

Just like a blacksmith’s forge, and

How did he make his blinkin’ laws? –

By George, by George, by George!

In 1791 I stole

A pair of bloomin’ quail.

Said the judge in a manner serene and kind,

‘Spend the next seven years in gaol.’

My days in gaol they told on me,

Didn’t suit my inclination.

So I stole the padlock from the gaolhouse door -

Exchanged the cell for transportation.

For months and months we sailed the sees

In a hulk never still.

I would’ve leapt o’er the side many times

But I was far too ill!

At last we’re down in brown Orstralia,

With our chain and ball.

No more will we steal a padlock or quail

And no more will we call -

Say Hello to Yourself

Say hello to yourself, ’cause you’re okay,

It’s not so hard to do.

Take the world as it comes

Day by day,

It’s really up to you.

Say hello to yourself come what may.

Take the world as it comes

Day by day.

(It’s really up to you, so)

Let us run as well as walk,

And let us shout as well as talk,

Fill the sky, fill the air, fill hearts everywhere,

It’s really up to you, so

Let us laugh as well as cry

And let us love until we die,

Fill the sky, fill the air, fill hearts everywhere

With life’s lovely song.

Say hello to yourself, ’cause you’re a friend,

It’s not so hard to do.

Treat the world to your smile,

Don’t pretend

It’s really up to you.

Say hello to yourself come what may.

Treat the world to your smile,

Day by day.

(It’s really up to you, so)

Say hello to yourself, ’cause that’s the way

It’s not so hard to do.

Light the world with your laugh,

Ev’ry day

It’s really up to you.

Say hello to yourself come what may.

Light the world with your laugh,

Day by day.

(It’s really up to you, so)

The Land of the Green and the Gold

Where do you take me, my country?

Why do you have such a hold?

What makes my country my country?

My land of the green and the gold.

It’s the colour of the green

It’s the colour of gold

It’s the heat of the day

And the bite of the cold

It’s brown creeks and blue hills and futures untold

It’s skies and the seas and the rocks and trees

It’s the land of the green and the gold -

The land of the green and the gold.

Where do you take us, our country?

Why do you have such a hold?

What makes our country our country?

Our land of the green and the gold.

It’s the colour of the green

It’s the colour of gold

It’s the never say die

And it’s breaking the mould

It’s splendid achievements and lambs in the fold

It’s towns and it’s plains and it’s flooding rains

It’s the land of the green and the gold -

The land of the green and the gold.

Where do we take you, our country?

How do we keep such a hold?

What makes our country our country?

It’s the land of the green and the gold.

It’s the colour of the green

It’s the colour of gold

It’s the face of the young

And the grace of the old

Explorers and trackers and bushrangers bold

It’s dreams and words and flights of birds

It’s the land of the green and the gold -

The land of the green and the gold.

Throw the Light Ahead

Darkness is falling all around the world,

Soon it’ll be the night.

Shadows abound like flags unfurled,

Closing around the light.

Footsteps echo in the fade away

Of one more happy day.

Make your smiles the world’s delight,

Like sunshine’s golden ray.

Throw the light ahead and not at your feet.

Keep on going boy and never admit defeat.

Through cold and dreary times when skies are greying,

Just flash your cheery smile and be sunraying.

If you do this, boy, the world will be your friend.

Happiness will come till journey’s end.

Just kindle smiles around for all to see,

And throw your light ahead.

Everybody has a light to shine,

Something to give to all.

Wear on your face a joyful sign,

Making your friendships warm.

We are ships that need a guiding light,

Especially in a storm.

Send your smiles throughout the night

To be another dawn.

Top of the World

I’ve been walking in the shadow’d valleys,

Not sure where to go or what to do;

Found myself alone in darken’d alleys,

All alone, a rendezvous in blue, (but)...

Climbing up towards the top of the world now,

Up to the sky, where I can fly!

Come climbing with me far above all your cares now,

Come on, get out, get rid of your doubts.

There’s a new world for you,

Where we can share the joys of friendship with each other.

At the top of the world there’s sunshine and laughter

Ev’rywhere there’s joy and song in the air.

What’s the point of always feeling sadly?

Why should I let the world get me down?

No matter that things seem to go so badly -

Must dress myself in a diff’rent gown!

If you make up your mind to take it on,

Doesn’t matter, really, what you choose,

You’ll find those old worries of yours all gone,

And then you’ll find that you cannot lose, (’cos)...

We’re a Hundred

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

Give a cheer for our past

Clap your hands for tomorrow, clap your hands with me

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

And it’s going to last, so here we are together now

At our centenary.

It all began at Mafeking, and BP,

With battle’s dinning noise,

He needed help and

Turned to the boys.

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

Give a cheer for our past

Clap your hands for tomorrow, clap your hands with me

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

And it’s going to last, so here we are together now

At our centenary.

It all began on Brownsea Isle, with BP,

And camping’s ’citing noise,

He started out and

Began Scouting for boys!

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

Give a cheer for our past

Clap your hands for tomorrow, clap your hands with me

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

And it’s going to last, so here we are together now

At our centenary.

It all began so long ago, by BP,

And camping was the call,

He started out and

Began Scouting for all!

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

Give a cheer for our past

Clap your hands for tomorrow, clap your hands with me

Oh, clap your hands ’cos we’re a hundred now

And it’s going to last, so here we are together now

At our centenary.
